Meet Julie: The Heroic Labrador Helping Rescue Teams in Turkey’s Earthquake

Earthquake in Turkey was very heartbreaking, thousands of people lost their lives and many people are injured in disaster. Everyone is praying for the wellness of people who are affected on this earthquake. The rescue team is trying their best to find the people who might be trapped and looking for help. Rescue teams from many countries are working hard on the Rescue work.

Julie a six year old Labrador is part of Indian Rescue team NDRF is also helping on Rescue work. She helped to find a 8-year-old Girl (Beren) under the rubble. It was her bark which attracted the rescue team they helped the Girl. The team rescued the girl after 80 hour of Earthquake.

The earthquake measured 7.8 on the Richter Scale. It was a disaster which effected thousands of people.

Indian Rescue team NDRF is running a rescue operation “Dost”. Julie is the member of this Rescue team. Labrador Retrievers are known for their exceptional sense of smell, which makes them well-suited for search and rescue operations. In earthquake situations, dogs like Julie can help locate people who are trapped under rubble or debris. The dogs are trained to sniff out the scent of human survivors, and they can often locate individuals more quickly and accurately than human rescuers can.

The work that Julie and other search and rescue dogs do is incredibly important, and their efforts can make a significant difference in saving lives in the aftermath of natural disasters. It’s inspiring to see the skills and dedication of these specially trained dogs in action.

As a tweet by NDRF put it, having a dog “will bless you with many of the happiest days of your life” — and it will also be a blessing on “one of the worst”.
