Ex IAS Officer’s Daughter Died of rabies after being bitten by vaccinated pet dog

An ex-IAS officer’s daughter died because of a dog bite, and this is not a case involving a street dog. This incident involved a pet dog, and the pet was vaccinated four months before her death. The ex-IAS officer’s daughter was a married woman and was associated with a well-known school in Gandhinagar. At her school, there was a pet dog, and while playing with that dog, she was accidentally bitten.

At that time, she did not take proper precautions because she believed it was not dangerous, as the pet dog was vaccinated. Many people who have vaccinated pets think that a bite from their own pet is not a serious matter. The same assumption was made by this woman. She was careless about the incident and may have even forgotten about it.

After 17 days, the pet dog beagan showing symptoms of rabies, and a few days later, the dog died due to the disease. After this incident, the school issued an advisory for anyone who had come into contact with the pet dog to get themselves checked. The staff was informed about the condition and situation of the pet dog that died due to rabies.

Soon after, the woman was admitted to a well-known hospital. After a few weeks of treatment, it was confirmed that she was also infected with rabies, caused by the dog bite. A few days later, on January 17, she lost her life due to rabies. It is well known that once rabies symptoms appear, the disease is almost always fatal, and the same tragic outcome occurred in this case.

Generally, people who have pets ignore bites or scratches if their pets are vaccinated, but this incident shows that necessary medical treatment should always be taken after any bite. We never know what could happen if such incidents are ignored. This case teaches an important lesson that we should never ignore health-related concerns, as they can lead to the loss of life.

While the government is taking serious action regarding issues related to dogs, there is limited action possible in cases involving pet dogs. Therefore, it is the responsibility of pet owners to ensure regular vaccination of their pets. Additionally, if someone is accidentally bitten by a pet, immediate medical precautions should be taken to ensure safety.
