When it comes to their children, mothers can do anything to protect them. A similar heroic act was recently recorded in Uttar Pradesh, where a five-year-old boy named Veeru was attacked by a crocodile while playing near a water body.
The boy’s mother, Maya, was busy with some household work nearby when she suddenly heard her son’s screams. Without a moment to prepare or even think about her own safety, she rushed towards the crocodile and fearlessly fought it with her bare hands to save her child.
In the struggle, Maya spotted an iron rod lying nearby. With immense courage, she struck the crocodile several times, forcing it to loosen its grip. She then managed to free her son from the predator’s jaws. Her brave act saved the boy’s life, proving once again the unmatched strength of a mother’s love.
The incident took place in the village when the crocodile suddenly appeared from the river and tried to drag the boy into the water. Maya’s timely reaction and determination stopped a possible tragedy.
“I screamed and without thinking about my life, I jumped in,” Maya, 40, later said while recalling the terrifying moment.
After the incident, the former village head, Rajkumar Singh, informed the local authorities. A team led by Divisional Forest Officer Ram Singh Yadav and SDO Rashid Jameel visited the site and assured the villagers that a special operation would be carried out to locate and capture the crocodile.
Following treatment, Maya has been discharged from the hospital, while her son Veeru is still undergoing care. Doctors have confirmed that he survived the attack only because of his mother’s incredible bravery and quick action.
