Chinese Businessman Losing Millions Because of Cats — Real or Fake?

A Chinese businessman had to lose millions because of a large number of cats. According to the news spreading on social media, a Bitcoin miner from Inner Mongolia lost millions just because of cats, and this news is highly spreading over social media platforms, becoming very popular in the last few days. But when we tried to get more and full details about this news and searched for some official sources, we checked the internet to see if there was anything we could find. Before doing this, we contacted a few of our friends who are living in Mongolia, but we didn’t get any information from them. So we decided to do a little bit of research on the internet so we could find some good source for this news.

When we searched, the main things available on the internet were Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter posts saying the same thing: a Chinese man loses millions just because of a few stray cats. The same story appeared everywhere. According to the news spreading on the internet, people were claiming around 200 stray cats entered a Bitcoin mining site. They appeared there because of warmth. They said the cats sat over the Bitcoin mining computers. Generally, electronic devices or continuously running devices generate heat, which sometimes causes problems. When heat issues occur, they cause slow processing of the device, which also causes loss of money because of slower earnings.

The same thing reportedly happened in this case. The cats sitting above the computers caused overheating of the devices, although these devices have cooling features and some extra cooling features added by the owner of the mining farm. Because of overheating, the devices crashed, and many devices became useless. That’s why the owner of the mining farm lost millions. The owner realised the problem when the mining output was getting lower than usual. So he decided to check, and he found that many cats were there.

The news also says that the owner was a cat lover, so instead of throwing all the cats out, he purchased around 200 warm seats where these cats could sit, and the cats were relocated to a safe place.

This was the news spreading all over social media, but nothing special or official was found anywhere. No official source has confirmed that this incident really happened. The news is mostly available on photograph-based and popular Bitcoin-related sites, and a few sites have covered this news in different languages. But when you translate them, you get the same thing that is going viral on social media.

Fake AI Image ?

When we decided to find more about what actually happened and why people are saying this, we didn’t get any authentic website where we could confirm that this news is real. One thing we found is that this news did not start going viral this week. It has been spreading quickly in the last few days, but it was actually posted earlier. When we checked, we found that the same news was posted one month ago on a Facebook page called “Story Time.”

But after searching in more detail, we could not find anything else about this. The image used in the post looks pretty simple. Based on the image, we cannot say anything. The image quality going viral on social media is not clear enough to examine properly. But when we look at the image, a few things are noticeable: the light is coming from the angle of the camera person, and the shadow is being created in the opposite direction of the light. But we all know that when light touches the eyes of cattle or any animals, especially cats, their eyes shine in the dark. But we did not see anything like that in the picture. Even behind the cats, we see nothing that matches such lighting effects.

Chinese Businessman Losing Millions Because of Cats — Real or Fake?

The claim says around 200 stray cats entered the Bitcoin mining warehouse. This seems almost exaggerated. If someone said around 20–30 cats, we could say it might be possible. But around 200 cats sounds a little fake.

We do not have anything to confirm whether this is fake or real because there are no official sources. Even many local people of that area do not know about this incident. Some posts say that reporters talked to the owner, who said he was a cat lover and gave those hundreds of cats warm mats and relocated them to another safe room. But which news agency covered this? We checked everywhere and couldn’t find any news channel reporting this incident.

The only primary source is social media. The image also looks like an AI-generated feature, but we did not find any final conclusion about this news.
